This letterbox is part of the GO and Be Active! program in York County, PA. It will be available from June 1, 2016 – August 14, 2016. Further details about the program may be found at www.goyork.org.
The GO and Be Active! program requires you to search for up to 30 “activities” – wooden posts with engraved plates on them, instead of a traditional letterbox and stamp. Please carefully rub the impression (with a colored pencil or crayon) from the engraved plate onto your GO and Be Active! rubbing sheet, available at any York County Library.
This letterbox is located at Sunset Lane Park (West Manchester Township) and should be accessed from the Sunset Lane Parking Lot. GO York! level of difficulty = Easy.
• From the parking lot, walk over to the path that is on the right side of the playground. Start walking straight on this path.
• At the first intersection, make a right. You will see bleachers on the right.
• Continue following the path around the baseball field.
• Make a slight left at the next intersection. The baseball field should still be on the left.
• There will be a narrow paved path on the right. Make a right onto this path.
• Before the woods, make an immediate right.
• Walk up a slight hill along the woods. The woods should be on the left.
• At the next intersection, make a left.
• The post can be found on the right side after you enter the woods.
• After finding the post, continue straight through the woods and take a minute to observe the large blue water tank!
• To return to your vehicle, turn around and make a right at the intersection.
• With the woods on the right, walk down the slight hill until you see the narrow paved path.
• At the narrow paved path, make a left and then make an immediate right onto the main path.
• Follow this path until you reach the parking lot.
