This letterbox is part of the GO and Be Active! program in York County, PA. It will be available from June 1, 2016 – August 14, 2016. Further details about the program may be found at www.goyork.org.

The GO and Be Active! program requires you to search for up to 30 “activities” – wooden posts with engraved plates on them, instead of a traditional letterbox and stamp. Please carefully rub the impression (with a colored pencil or crayon) from the engraved plate onto your GO and Be Active! rubbing sheet, available at any York County Library.

This letterbox is located at Heritage Rail Trail County Park and should be accessed from the Glatfelter Station Parking Lot off Glatfelters Station Road. GO York! level of difficulty = Hard.

• Starting from the parking lot, walk past the portable restroom and onto the paved trail.
• Once at the paved trail, turn right and follow the trail towards the bridge.
• Carefully cross the metal and wood bridge. Look and see if you can spot any fish.
• Continue walking until you come to an intersection in the trail. At the intersection make a right and continue following the trail. The creek will be on your right and an old barn on your left.
• As you follow the trail you will come to a road crossing. Look both ways and carefully cross over Glatfelter Station Road.
• Continue following the trail until you come to 2 grey benches on your left. Stop and take a rest if needed. Once rested, continue following the trail.
• Keep walking another quarter of a mile down the trail. You will come to 4 grey benches and a green bridge.
• The post can be found near the green bridge on the wooden fence.
• To return to your vehicle, turn around and go back the way you came.

Hike length: 2-3 miles
