This letterbox is part of the GO and Be Active! program in York County, PA. It will be available from June 1, 2016 – August 14, 2016. Further details about the program may be found at www.goyork.org.
The GO and Be Active! program requires you to search for up to 30 “activities” – wooden posts with engraved plates on them, instead of a traditional letterbox and stamp. Please carefully rub the impression (with a colored pencil or crayon) from the engraved plate onto your GO and Be Active! rubbing sheet, available at any York County Library.
This letterbox is located at Spring Valley County Park and should be accessed from the parking lot at the intersection of Potosi
and Blymire Hollow Roads . GO York! level of difficulty = Hard.
• Starting from the parking lot, locate Maintenance Rd 1.
• Start walking on Maintenance Rd 1 and cross the first bridge.
• A little further down the road you will cross over a second bridge.
• After the second bridge, turn right onto Maintenance Rd 3 (M3).
• Walk up the big hill. At the top of the hill, turn left onto Trail 1B.
• Cross over a small stream and continue uphill.
• Continue until you come to the intersection of Trail 1B and Trail 1C.
• You will find the post at this intersection.
• After the post, turn left and continue on Trail 1B.
• Follow Trail 1B to Maintenance Rd 1.
• Turn left and follow Maintenance Rd 1 back to parking lot.
