Girl Scout Troop 5962 hid this letter box as one of the requirements for our Letterboxing badge. Please let us know if you enjoyed it.
Our box is hidden along the Octoraro Creek Trail near the Cecil county side of the Conowingo Dam. If you are coming from the other side of the river, turn right on Md. Rt 222 south and go approximately one mile to the trail parking lot on the right.
Park by the pavilion with picnic tables and on foot cross the wooden bridge. Walk straight down the path inbetween the yellow poles. You will pass a Silver Maple tree on your right (look for the tree marker). Continue on the path until it splits in three. Follow the path on the left. You will pass a Bitter Nut Hickory/Swamp Hickory tree on your left (look for the tree marker). After the tree go approximately 13 steps. On your left you will see a big tree with amazing roots exposed. At the base of the tree hidden in the roots you will find our box.
Hike length: 0.5 miles
