Difficulty: Fairly easy
Distance to letterbox: 1/2 mile RT
The dreaded clown has shown his face again....if that is his real face. Bozo is loose in Spring Creek Preserve, playing tricks on hikers and flattening bikers tires. Be careful, he may be behind you. Once you find his hiding place, be sure to you look for a bear to protect you, as the evil Bozo is dangerous if not contained by the image of a bear. I hope you make it out safely!! (since when is a clown more dangerous than a bear? -- Ghost of IRA Boxer)
Directions:
From I-35, go west on Aquarena Springs Dr (Hwy 82), then right at sign into the springs area. Park on left near the Texas River Center building (now $3 fee if park during the week).
To the Letterbox:
From Trail sign at corner of parking area, walk across the street to gravel roadway leading to maintenance building. To left of it you will find trail kiosk. Take the trail up until you hit junction. Go right (should see fire hydrant) and continue straight until sharp turn to left and trail kiosk. Do not make the turn. Keep going straight on pathway and count 16 steps. Now go left off trail for 4 steps to back side of tree under a rock.
Hike length: 0.5 miles
