Difficulty: Moderate
Distance to letterbox: About 1 mile round trip
Where else would you find the evil son of the notorious ghost, than in Purgatory park on Dante's trail. As you will see, this little devil show what happens when the dark world of Ira Boxer has children. Only a Bear can keep you safe from such demonic things. So get him back in his box as fast as you can, and thank a Bear next time you see one for putting him there in the first place.
Directions:
From I-35, go west on Hwy 12 about two miles. Turn left on Craddock Rd (at light). Turn right and continue on dirt road for about 1/2 mile to parking area for trail head.
To the Letterbox:
Take Dante's trail. After passing Paraiso trail, continue on through creek bed, then start looking for yellow trail markers on trees. You want to find tree in middle of trail with "D-75" on it. Go about 20 more steps to a large oak tree on left edge of trail. Go off trail to 2nd large oak. Box at back base under rock.
Hike length: 1 mile
