Our class created this letterbox. It is located near the Davidson Greenway and the landmark Antiquity covered bridge. Walk the trail and find the hidden box.
Park in the Davidson Parks and Rec parking lot to walk the greenway or look for the box. Address: 955 South Street, Davidson, NC 28036
1. Go to the Davidson Parks and Recreation Department parking lot in Davidson, NC
2. Walk straight out of the parking lot and take a left onto South Street.
3. Cross the covered Antiquity bridge by walking along the sidewalk on the outside right of the bridge. After crossing, turn to the right until you see wooden steps on your right going down the hill.
4. Go down the wooden steps until you get to the bottom of the hill with the creek in front of you.
5. Turn right so you are walking on the trail under the bridge with the creek on your left and the rock wall supporting the bridge on your right.
6. The trail will lead you to a pond.
7. Go toward the pong. There is a tree directly in front of you, with a bunch of large rocks surrounding it at the waterside.
8. The box is hidden in the rocks underneath the tree.
Here are some partial directions:
From 77, take Exit 23 Corneilus. Go east on Catawba Road toward downtown Cornelius. Follow Catawba Road over the railroad tracks and through Antiquity. Turn left onto Old Canal Street and follow until you see the bridge. Currently there is construction and roads are closed, but work your way through the neighborhood to the back and turn left on South Street. Pass through the bridge and park in the next parking lot on your right.
