Help! Our horses are in hiding and we can't find them! Maybe YOU can!

Please park at the intersection of Route 102 and Rockland Road in Scituate, by the water pump. You won't need to walk far at all, in fairly easy terrain, and should be able to find them despite a few inches of snow. Both are small locking plastic containers.

One day at the RecipeForDisaster ranch, super-horses Cloud and River were super-bored. It was a bright, warm day ... the kind of day ADVENTURES are made for.

River noticed that one of the gates to "Adventureland" was unlatched; Cloud quickly shoved the gate WIDE OPEN. Adventure awaited, YAY!

They headed out to Route 102, then south to Crazy Corners in Scituate. Mommy always mentioned that it was a place where 3 roads (Route 102, Rockland Road and Route 14) came together and that there were places there for travelers to rest. When they got there, they smelled YUMMY CORN cooking in some of the fireplaces. They spent some time scooting across the roads, exploring the picnic sites and MUNCHING ON CORN!

They were thirsty, so they grabbed a drink at the water pump on the island (near where you parked) between Route 102 and Rockland road. Then, they trotted through a break in the stone wall, east, towards the stone ring. They followed the path through some pines, around the stone ring, and found a HUGE boulder that had a lot of writing on it, but horses can't read.

The horses scooted around the right side of the boulder and stopped at a stone wall. River thought they should stay on the boulder side of the wall, but Cloud said "Nope! I'm a big girl and I want to see what's over there!" She stepped over the wall and took four steps to a tall stump. She looked forward and slightly right, towards another tall stump. Cloud was getting tired and looked at the ground between the 2 stumps. Spying 3 medium size stones lying on the ground, she walked to the third one in line and scooted underneath it for a nap.

River doubled back and retraced their steps briefly, until he got back to the stone ring and looked left, south, through a gap in the trees. He continued on, crossing Rockland Road towards a round stone wall. He ate some more corn at the neat stone table, then proceeded south towards Route 14 down the wide path towards another stone ring. He turned to his right before the ring, then to his right at a big hardwood near the stone ring, for about 8 steps, into a pine grove. Before the next hardwood tree, he looked right and found a large rectangular rock, poking up, its void pointing to Route 14, 5 steps off the path... He hid under it, behind a rock. He brought a logbook, too, because he likes to make friends.

Thanks so much for finding our horses! They love to meet new people. Feel free to scratch their shoulders and give them peppermints. Just remind them to trot on home, ok??
