Each December, the City of Buda hosts the Trail of Lights at Historic Stagecoach Park. It is a wonderful display of lights and festive holiday scenes sponsored by local businesses and organizations. The Texas Star Service Unit sponsors a reindeer barn display and all the local Girl Scouts spread Christmas cheer by painting red Rudolph noses on visitors.
To get to the reindeer barn box, find Stagecoach Park at 880 Main St., Buda, TX. From IH-35, go west on Loop 4, the park is on the right before you get to the railroad tracks. Park toward the back of the parking lot near the map kiosk.
From the map kiosk, walk straight down the trail and past the left side of the pavilion. The trail will wind a couple times, then as it makes a sharp wide bend to the left, look for a tree standing alone to your right, just at the edge of the trail. From that tree, walk approximately 15 steps straight off the trail to the next group of trees, and find the tree that is laying down. The letterbox is in the "V" at the base of the trees just behind the fallen tree, under some leaves and sticks.
This is a 2-stamp set, best used with both red and green ink pads.
Hike length: 0.5 miles
