Shawsheen Valley Technical High School is located at 100 Cook St. 'Shawsheen Tech' or 'Shaw Tech' is a public high school serving 5 towns-Bedford, Billerica, Burlington, Tewksbury and Wilmington. the school opened in 1965 and has an enrollment of about 1270 students in grades 9-12. The school colors are purple and white, the school's emblem is a purple ram's head.
Do not enter the main entrance, but take the driveway with the sign that states guest parking/pool/athletic fields. As you drive this roadway, the school will be on your right and you will go past the automotive shop toward the back of the parking lot. Look for lots E and C in front of the soccer/softball fields. You will see a wooden guard rail on the left of a paved path. The wooden rail will stop at a gate that you will go through as you follow the paved path. The soccer/softball fields will be on your right slightly above you. The paved path will curve slightly right, you will see an unpaved path go off to the left and a blue building in front of you. Look to the left as you go toward the building for a 4 sister birch tree(a couple of trunks are tall stumps). Go to the collection of birches and to the right side under leaves and pieces of birch is the mascot of Shaw Tech.
