Today marks three years that we have been in Michigan. What better way to spend this beautiful fall day than placing our first Michigan Letterbox at our favorite park! So far we have placed only one, but we may decide to add some bonus boxes to this location each anniversary!
Begin at the Welcome To Oshtemo Township Park sign and head straight onto the wooded trail. Pass disk golf holes #6 (on the left) and #2 (on the right).
Shortly after this, you will come to a T which you will stay straight and quickly a Y which you will veer left. Keep the guardrail to your right and begin counting birdhouses- one on your left then two on your right.
After birdhouse #3, count approx 35 paces and keep an eye out for the giant 4 limbed tree- it reminds our kids of an Octopus!
Behind the tree you will get a good view of the metal pole that has speared the giant octopus. How did it get there? It looks like it was burned into the tree- so strange!
Still faceing the back of the octopus, look to your left to see another large, mangled tree- the kids called this one the Serpent. On the Serpent's back is a furry vine of some sort. Follow this down to the base of tree and under some leaves and twigs you will find our first of hopefully many Anniversary boxes! :)
