This one was planted on my 7 year anniversary with Atlas Quest! We found the perfect spot while out walking this trail on a breezy not-so-hot August mid-day excursion.
Tuesday evenings in the fall and spring, you will find me glued to one of my Marvel TV shows, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. For an hour, I am transported into the world of superheroes and super human characters. I really enjoy the adventure and wit of these shows, and how they all tie in to the many great movies Marvel has made the past few years. This stamp is in honor of this TV show.
To find this box you will need to park at the Burdette Park Discovery Lodge parking lot near the Burdette Park/USI Trail Head and begin your walk there. As you are walking down the winding path, look for the gnome on his computer sitting right in front of the "ED HELFRICH" tree. (If you cross the bridge, you have gone too far.) There is a large rock just to the left of the gnome. If you look in the back of the stone, you will find a nice cubby hole in which a letterbox fits nicely. This is a very busy area, so be quick and discreet. There are lots of shady areas to sit and stamp.
