Virginia Satir was an American author and social worker known for her work with family reconstruction, and is regarded as the Mother of Family Therapy. One of her most novel ideas was that the "presenting issue" itself was seldom the real problem; rather, how people coped with the issue created the problem. Satir also offered insights into the particular problems that low self-esteem could cause in relationships. Though she lived in California, she spent much time in Crested Butte, and it became a kind of second home for her. She received many honors and awards before her death in 1988, and you can pay your respects at Crested Butte Cemetery while looking for this box.

Directions:
From Crested Butte go north on 6th Street and continue about 0.5 mile as it becomes Gothic Rd to Crested Butte Cemetery on the right. Enter and take first right, curving to left, then right at next intersection. Take next right and park where road starts to bend left by grave of Virginia Satir on right.

Clues:
Walk south on road 40 steps to bench for Joseph Perko on right. Continue 12 steps to second pine tree on right. LB is at left front under rocks.
