Alive and well 6/06 with a new book

San Carlos Borromeo Del Rio Carmel aka Carmel Mission was founded in 1770 and is the 2nd mission in the chain of 21 California Mission. It is also the final resting place of Father Junipero Serra the founder of many of the missions.

Difficulty Level: Easy, flat stroll
No Compass needed

Walk through the courtyard garden toward the front of the Basillica

Go through the gate to the right of the Basillica into the Cemetary

Look for the large Cross honoring the Christian Indians and Spainards buried here. This is your starting point for counting

Keep walking on the path and count the trees on your immediate right

The 4th tree is a multi-trunk tree the box is hidden in the fork of the tree. Easiest to see if you walk around the left side.

Please be sure to hide this box from view when you return it.
