Holden’s address is 9500 Sperry Road in Kirtland, Ohio. Directions can be found at www.holdenarb.org. The Holden Arboretum is a private non-profit institution and does have an entrance fee of $10 for adults, $4 for children 6-18, and free for children 5 and under.

Once you arrive at Holden, pay the admission fee and stop in at the Visitor Center to get a trail map. From the visitor center, turn right and follow the path, past the giant Coast Redwood tree section. At the T intersection where the trailhead map is turn left and follow the signs into The Display Garden.

At the fork, go left following the sign that says Rhododendron Gardens. At the T-intersection head right and keep following the signs that say Rhododendron Gardens. You will pass Lotus Pond on your right. At the next fork bear left and head down the R. Henry Norweb Jr. Tree Allée. Open the deer fence and head into the Eliot and Linda Paine Rhododendron Discovery Garden.

Keep going straight until you reach a bridge. Cross the bridge and continue straight, keeping Heath Pond on your left. At the three way fork take the first path on the left and head up the hill. At the fork, turn right and keep going. Pass the Beech Knoll sign and look for 3 benches on the left. Now look for a clump of smooth gray barked Beech trees on your left. Turn to the right and walk into the woods until you reach a giant tree stump. The letterbox should be on the other side of the tree. When you are done follow the signs back to the visitor center.

Please be discreet and make sure no one sees you getting the box or putting it back. Please contact the name and number on the box if there are any questions or concerns.
