Box 2
'Nutty Nibblers'
Blue Heron Golf Course, Medina
Moderately hard terrain(big hills)

Bring bug spray and a compass. Also, if it's not really hot, long pants are advisable. There's lots of poison ivy, and you have to do a little bushwhacking. Nature is vicious, oh yes...

~Instructions~

From the paved path at the end of the bridge(see 'Dam Builders' Box instructions), head back the way you came(NOT over the bridge!!!! It's falling apart!!!). About halfway up the hill, you'll see a big tree(hm...I didn't write down what kind of tree...but it's the only one there) on your left. Stand on the East side with your back against it and take a heading due North across the ravine to a tree all strangled with poison ivy vines(big and hairy. Like tarantulas. Except not. Actually, I think I'm more afraid of poison ivy than I am of tarantulas...anyhow). To the right of the tree, there's a little section of game trail that goes up to the paved trail. Once on the paved part again(civilization! at last!!!) go to the right. You'll see some sort of clubhouse-ish thing in the distance, but before you get there there's a set of old wooden steps leading to nowhere(or maybe it's to another dimension? Oooohhh, the possibilities...) on the left side of the path(right before the 'T'). The box is buried under a rock in the right corner of the 8th step. Don't worry, you don't need a shovel, it's not, like, really buried. Per usual, if anything is not as it should be or was said to be(I have misled you all, mwahaha!!! Okay, not really), my e-mail is: tiredmom5kidz@yahoo.com. Please tell me if anything is amiss. Watch out for bloodsucking bugs....

~ALTERNATE INSTRUCTIONS~

If you're not finding the 'Dam Builders' box as well (a.k.a. you don't want to walk that much)...

Traveling West on Ridgewood road(from Windfall, off of Rt. 18) you'll see Arlyne Lane going off to the left. Go past it and down the hill, to the other entrance on the same side with the 'Montville Lakes' sign(this is also the name of the road). Go down Montville Lakes Boulevard until it turns East, turn West onto Arlyne Lane. About halfway down there's a few undeveloped grassy lots on the left, with a paved trail cutting through them. Park somewhere on the street and take the trail back to the lake(look for the black rat snake in the bushes). It branches, curving around the lake or going down a hill into the woods. Take the Northwest fork. It twists around a lot and crosses a bridge and goes up and down some small hills. Eventually, you'll come to a corrugated metal tube running under the train tracks. On the other side there's a three-way fork, with abandoned driving range nets that make it look creepily post-apocalyptic. Don't go that way. I mean, you can. It's cool. But you won't find the box. And the woodchucks might get you. *Anyway.* Go West; you'll eventually pass an abandoned clubhouse-ish-thing on your right. After that there's a really steep downhill with a lovely creek at the bottom that you should totally go wade in if its 90-something like it was when I hid the box. (Not like I did that or anything...). But first take the Northwest fork. You'll find a set of overgrown steps going to nowhere on your right, the box is buried in the right corner of the 8th step up, under a rock. No, you don't need a shovel. It's not that buried. Have fun...and seriously, check out the creek. It's lovely.

Laetus Indagatus,
Zanath Shadow

*Update - November 2016* There is a small TREE growing in front of the step now. The rock is still there, though. Just more...er. Natural camouflage.*
