Dixie is a New Orleans Original created in the brewery at 2401 Tulane Ave. The beer is created in Cypress barrels, and has a distinct taste all of it's own. Dixie knows they are not the best, and they are not too proud to admit it. Their last ad slogan was, "Dixie tastes better than every other beer in the world - Combined", but the bar contest was a shot of Dixie in one cup and miscellaneous beers mixed together in the other cup. You will either love it or hate it, but you owe it to yourself to try this distinctive New Orleans brew. This microbox is located not too far from the brewery, on the Arboretum Trail in City Park.

Directions:
From I-10 East, continue on to I-610 East towards Slidell. Take the Canal Blvd./West End Blvd. Exit (1A) and turn left (north) onto Canal Blvd. Then turn right on Harrison Ave. for about .5 mile and the Arboretum Trail parking will be on your left.

Clues:
Walk north on the Arboretum Trail to a jct. with a trail map sign. Turn left (west) and walk about 100 yards to a sign about "The Limiting Factor". Turn right (south) and walk uphill to the wooden platform that is the highest elevation in New Orleans. From bottom of platform walk back the way you came for 15 steps, starting down the hill. Look left (west) for 2 trees growing next to each other about 5 steps off trail. The microbox is buried at their base on the far side under a rock. Please re-cover well. THESE LANDMARKS PROBABLY HAVE CHANGED SINCE KATRINA, BUT THE BOX MAY STILL BE THERE.
