This letterbox is part of the GO and Find Your Hero! program in York County, PA. It will be available from May 30, 2015- August 16, 2015. Further details about the program may be found at www.goyork.org.
The GO and Find Your Hero! program requires you to search for up to 30 “autographs” of community heroes. These “autographs” are wooden posts with engraved plates on them, instead of a traditional letterbox and stamp. Please carefully rub the impression from the engraved plate onto your GO and Find Your Hero! rubbing page, available at any York County library.
The letterbox is located at Kline's Run / Native Lands County Park. GO York! level of difficulty = Moderate
- From the lower parking lot walk up the steps to the pavilions and continue up the paved driveway to the left of the pavilion. Stay on this driveway up the hill.
- At the first intersection, turn left and walk to the grey “outhouse.”
- From there, make a left and walk through the grass up to the trail entering into Native Lands County Park. There will be a white sign at the trail entrance.
- Follow the trail through the woods for a few hundred yards until it comes out in a grass field.
- Follow the mowed trail out through the grass field. Wood posts with blue markings will be beside the trail.
- At the trail intersection make a left on the mowed trail. The trail will lead you down the hill.
- Walk down to where the trail cuts between a wood fence row. On the left side on the fence will be the autograph you seek.
- To return to your vehicle, turn around and follow the trails back the way you came.
