This letterbox is part of the GO and Find Your Hero! program in York County, PA. It will be available from May 30, 2015- August 16, 2015. Further details about the program may be found at www.goyork.org.
The GO and Find Your Hero! program requires you to search for up to 30 “autographs” of community heroes. These “autographs” are wooden posts with engraved plates on them, instead of a traditional letterbox and stamp. Please carefully rub the impression from the engraved plate onto your GO and Find Your Hero! rubbing page, available at any York County library.
The letterbox is located at Rocky Ridge County Park and may be accessed from the Hidden Laurel picnic area. GO York! level of difficulty = Hard
- Start at the bulletin board located beside the two blue trash bins.
- To the right of the bulletin board will be a gravel trail. Follow it back toward the playgrounds.
- Walk between the volleyball court and the playground, and continue following the gravel trail past the crow pavilion.
- Follow the trail down to the road crossing. Carefully cross the road and head down trail #4.
- Continue to follow the trail to the next trail intersection. Continue walking straight on trail #4.
- Continue to follow the trail to the next intersection and remain straight on trail #4.
- Cross the wooden bridge and then head up the hill. You should find the autograph at the top of the hill.
- To return to your vehicle, turn around and retrace your steps to the parking area.
