This letterbox is part of the GO and Find Your Hero! program in York County, PA. It will be available from May 30, 2015- August 16, 2015. Further details about the program may be found at www.goyork.org.

The GO and Find Your Hero! program requires you to search for up to 30 “autographs” of community heroes. These “autographs” are wooden posts with engraved plates on them, instead of a traditional letterbox and stamp. Please carefully rub the impression from the engraved plate onto your GO and Find Your Hero! rubbing page, available at any York County library.

The letterbox is located at Gifford Pinchot State Park and may be accessed from the Conewago Day Use parking area. GO York! level of difficulty = Moderate

- Locate and follow the paved road back to the nature/interpretive center and start up the stone trail into the woods to the left of the center – check out some of the woodpecker holes in the trees to the right.
- Just past the “oak trail” sign on your right the trail splits – follow the trail uphill to the left, which takes you to the “old toboggan run rocks” (near trail marker #29)
- Watch your footing as you climb uphill and make sure you check out all of the large rocks and boulders to your right.
- At the old toboggan run at the top of the hill (a short distance into the woods on your right, if you want to check it out), turn left. Trail marker #27 should be on your left.
- Follow the gravel trail, slowly walking downhill, as it brings you to a grassy clearing on your right – look for butterflies, grasshoppers and other insects in this field!
- Just past the clearing, continue to the bicycle sign with an arrow and two blue, rectangle markings on it on your right (near some stone piles) – across the trail from here you will find the autograph.
- Retrace your steps to return to the parking area.
