This letterbox is part of the GO and Find Your Hero! program in York County, PA. It will be available from May 30, 2015- August 16, 2015. Further details about the program may be found at www.goyork.org.
The GO and Find Your Hero! program requires you to search for up to 30 “autographs” of community heroes. These “autographs” are wooden posts with engraved plates on them, instead of a traditional letterbox and stamp. Please carefully rub the impression from the engraved plate onto your GO and Find Your Hero! rubbing page, available at any York County library.
The letterbox is located at Heritage Rail Trail County Park and may be accessed from the Hanover Junction parking area. GO York! level of difficulty = Moderate
- From the parking area, walk to the trail entrance to the left of the train station.
- Make a right onto the gravel trail.
- Walk the trail to the first road crossing. Carefully cross the road and continue down the trail.
- After walking a few hundred yards you will pass two benches on your left. Continue walking down the trail.
- The autograph you seek will be near the wooden canopy table on the left side of the trail.
- To return to your vehicle turn around and follow the trail back to the parking area.
