This letterbox is part of the GO and Find Your Hero! program in Ephrata, PA. It will be available from May 30, 2015- August 8, 2015. Further details about the program may be found at www.goephrata.org.
The GO and Find Your Hero! program requires you to search for up to 15 “autographs” of community heroes. These “autographs” are wooden posts with engraved plates on them, instead of a traditional letterbox and stamp. Please carefully rub the impression from the engraved plate onto your GO and Find Your Hero! rubbing page, available at the Ephrata Public library.
The letterbox is located at Thomas P. Grater Community Park in Ephrata Borough. GO Ephrata! level of difficulty = Moderate
- Start your journey in front of the Sharadin Bigler Theatre.
- Locate and follow the middle concrete path between the Theatre and the Eicher Arts Center. Continue on this path until it turns into macadam.
- As you walk along this path, you will pass a playground on your left and then cross over two wooden footbridges.
- Continue under the bridge. Concrete walls should be on your left.
- Pass a wooden walkway on your left and then locate the bench nearby that has the “Historical Conservation Trust of the Ephrata Area” plaque on it.
- The autograph post you seek should be nearby.
- To return to your vehicle, retrace your steps.
