Sammy the Salamander was bored of staying in Shenandoah all day, all year, all her life, so she set off to find a new home. She came to the Pembroke Park Playground, but it was too hot. Leaving the playground, she followed the concrete path to the right, keeping the forest, which contained poison ivy, on her left. She passed a lone tree on the right. Twenty-nine steps later she came to a path on the left. Sammy followed the path to a gigantic maple tree. She thought it would be an excellent place to rest, but first she would have to find the perfect place. Sammy came to a side where there were many roots around. She found a little gap in the roots and settled down in her new place.
