In Westeros, they say “Winter is Coming” but here in Waukesha Co. it finally looks like it might be over!

So while us George R. R. Martin fans patiently (or not so patiently!) await the release of the 6th installment of “the Song of ICE and Fire” series, we have to be content catching up with our favorite characters on the small screen.

AGEs ago in our story, Eddard Stark was the Hand of the King, and as you may (or may not) know, it’s tough to be the Hand! The TRAIL of misfortune seems to have followed the next two Hands as well. While neither one lost their HEADs, it’s no CUSHy job keepING the realm in order- or a day in the PARK (or the privy)!

Don’t believe me? - time to hit the KingsROAD and see if you have what it takes to find this Letterbox!

From your parking spot, follow the marked but unpaved path heading East. As you are walking this wide, open area you may begin to realize this journey may not offer a lot of good places to take cover! Soon along the way you will come to a Y- continue on your course at 70 degrees – passing a map of the Kingdom on your Left. Shortly along you will see “Timms Woods” to your Right– not knowing who “Timms” is, friend or foe, best to keep walking! As you continue on just past a curve, another woods lies ahead - as you approach it, another decision- While the Springs sounds like an interesting choice, hopefully you have all the water you need for the journey- if you are curious, take a side trip- but return, and take the direction of 160 degrees to continue on!
You will now get some needed cover, into the woods passing a large (burial?) pile of rocks on your left. As you twist through the woods, following the trail markings on the trees, you climb a small hill and walk out overlooking the vast Kingdom- you may spy a tower in the Southeast, another castle of the Realm? As you walk on, you are met by a crossing used by Horse or Wagon, you however should keep on foot and continue South, isn’t that the direction of King’s Landing? Noticing as you travel on, these lands have been recently scorched, you may have lost that brief sense of security the forest brings. Keeping to the trail, stay close to the woods, skirting it’s edge as you see homes of Noble Lords high above on your Left. Ahh.., finally a spot to rest on your right, just as you begin to dust the dirt of your boots, and grab for a sip of refreshment- you hear it- the sound of hooves approaching in the distance! Not wanting to be caught off guard- you decide to depart your trail and head West through the prairie path, following the sparse Oak tree line and up a small hill. At the top you look to the south and see riders approaching- not recognizing the banner- you must decide- continue on your westward path, or go back- you decide there is no turning back! Just up ahead is another intersection, no time to hesitate, from the Large fallen tree in the Southwest corner on your Left you start counting, 40 steps as you head up another small hill. You stop and look to your Left, you see an Oak with a broken off limb (reminding you of Ser Jamie) that looks like a good spot to take cover. Taking 7 steps walking toward it, you notice the limb lying next to it, where the fallen limb rests near the base on the south side of the tree- the prize you seek is hidden there, under a small SPOR- if you are brave enough to take it!

After avoiding a run in with unknown banner men, you may have decided you have had enough of an adventure for one day! If so, return to the path and continue west until you come to the paved path. Turn Right and follow the path North, after a hill and a curve, you should see your vehicle ahead.

Hope you enjoyed your hike through the Realm!
Box updates appreciated- Thanks!
