When I learned there was an upcoming event in San Saba I looked it up and it claims to be the Pecan Capital of the World. So I carved a stamp. We walked there on Saturday, March 7 but I didn't find a likely hiding spot.

I had heard there was a wedding oak so we headed out to look at it. Very big with a historical marker. We continued down the road and at the San Saba river there is a pull over with an old bridge and historical marker. There was a huge tree and yes it has a nice hole in the trunk right at my eye level. Inside though was multiple items of trash. Not a good place to leave a box. We walked over the bridge and back. Turning around for one last look, I decided to look along the edge of the bridge for a hiding place. Where the barbed wire fence and the bridge meet is a small space. So to find the box stand facing the river. On the right side walk down to the barbed wire fence. The box is there between the fence post and the bridge with a rock on both sides. Please rehide well and make sure there is a rock on the back side to keep it from tumbling down the hill.

To find the bridge, head west away from the courthouse on Hwy 190. Turn right on N. 9th. Turn left on China Creek Rd (right before the railroad tracks). It curves around and you will pass the wedding oak before coming to the river.
