Trail difficulty: fairly easy, a very short climb up a slope.
Walk distance: very short
Stamp hand-carved by Legerdemaine.
Status: alive and well on April 15, 2016.

This letterbox was created by the incomparable Legerdemaine in 2003. However the clues were never posted and were available only by word of mouth. I have unofficially maintained the box for years. Recently, I was given permission to officially adopt it.

Enter McDowell*Mtn.*Reg.*Prk. which is off of N. McDowell Mtn. Rd. north of Fountain Hills. After passing the entrance station, drive for about 1 mile to a low road cut on the left side (southwest side) and “25 mph signs” on each side of the road. On the left side up the slope is a utility box with the number Pdp0601 on it. Park here.

From the utility box walk at about 130 degrees (from mag. North) for about 58 steps to a dead Saguaro (ribs sticking up). From the Saguaro, go at about 148 degrees for about 19 steps to a medium size Palo Verde Tree. The box is under the southwest side of the tree under some rocks.

Please please be sure the contents are double ziplocked when you put them back in the box (i.e. the stamp is in a ziploc, the book is in a ziploc, and the two are in the larger ziploc bag) and put all of it INSIDE the box. Please rehide the box well under the rocks so that it can not be seen from any direction.

Please record your find at www.letterboxing.org/ or at www.atlasquest.com/ .
