American buffalo (bison) roamed in huge herds across the Great Plains of the United States. Cleburne sits on those plains. Buffalo watered in the creek that runs through Cleburne and there are two bronze buffalos along the creek that reminds us of that fact. The creek is called Buffalo Creek for that very reason.
To locate the box park on Westhill Drive between Hillsboro and Walnut Street. There is a playground there in Hulen Park. After parking walk across the bridge and turn left to walk down the ramp to the riverwalk along Buffalo Creek.
Stop at the first bench. Look ahead and left at the big tree. Behind the tree is a slab of concrete on it's edge. Behind this slab is the box you seek. Beware of the thorny vines! Watch for snakes.
