Help! Gregory the Goat has run away again, and we suspect him to be prairie and park hopping. Our latest lead indicates that he's visited Doris Creek Prairie Conservation Area, although the details are sketchy. Reports indicate that after entering the parking lot, he followed the trail northwest towards the closest pond (also called Pond #1), and traveled to its northern bank. The geese who live nearby are certain they saw him poking around the overflow culvert, especially overturning large rocks on the west side of the culvert immediately next to the big pipe and appearing to smuggle something under a large scalene-triangle-shaped rock, but, then again, take a goose's knowledge of geometry with a grain of salt. Apparently, after rock-hopping for a while--probably to sharpen his hooves, knowing how goats can be, but the geese were pretty dismissive of it--he high-tailed it out of there. If you happen to find any clues about Gregory's whereabouts, please keep us informed!

To reach the Doris Creek Prairie Conservation Area: from I-49/Highway 71, take exit 70 between Lamar and Jasper. Take Highway 126 east 4 miles, then turn south on SE 40 Lane (gravel) for 1 mile. Doris Creek is located at the corner of SE 40th Lane and SE 80th Road.
