START AT THE TOP . . . DON’T READ AHEAD . . . DO ALL THE PARTS!!!
1. Park at the Williston Recreation Fields near the long white fence. Go through the green archway to the water fountain. Count to seven as you take a drink of water.
. . .
2. Turn a half rotation and sprint toward the WCS playground. Go down the swirly slide on the WCS playground! At the bottom, turn right and run over the basketball court toward the school bus parking loop.
3. Stop at the concrete sidewalk. Walk along the sidewalk to the front of the school, find the granite bench in a mini-garden. The sign on the bench is in memory of a special principal. What is the name? Do a Jump Turn 180 degrees!
. . .
4. Return to the sidewalk.
5. Get ready to cross the road. Use the crosswalk. Before you cross the road, STOP and Look Both Ways! Once you are on the other side, get your feet onto green grass.
. . .
6. Then, skip toward the DoDecagon! (Later, this could be a fun place to do your stamping!) Once you are in front of this structure, turn 90 degrees counter-clockwise. Jog toward the sign for the Eco-Warrior Garden! Read it!
7. Now, answer this question: “Can a Rain Garden keep a Vermont River clean?”
If you think ‘No’, look down to your right into the Hosta Plant for your letterbox surprise!
If you think ‘Yes’, look up to your left into the Conifer Bush for your letterbox surprise!
. . .
When you are done with your letterbox adventure, feel free to head into the Dorothy Alling Memorial Library to read more about Williston, water, Vermont, snowmelt, Chittenden County . . . you can head into the DAML to read more about ANYTHING! Or, go into the building to thank the librarians for their great work at keeping books available to the public! Remember to whisper!!!
