Martín de León was a wealthy Mexican rancher descended from Spanish aristocracy who became the only Mexican empresario to found a colony in Texas. In 1824 he founded the town of Victoria and named it after Guadalupe Victoria, who had just become the first president of Mexico. He died of cholera in 1833 and is buried at Evergreen Cemetery, where this box is located.

Directions:
From Hwy 59 go southwest on Houston Hwy about 7.5 miles to N Main St and turn right. Go about 0.4 mile to Sabine Street and turn left for 0.3 mile to Vine Street. Turn left then right into Evergreen Cemetery and continue to wide area and park.

Clues:
Walk on road same direction you were heading for 40 steps to many bushes on the left forming a U shape. Go into the U and go behind the grave of Meiss and look for LB under a rock and leaves within trunks of bush next to that grave.
