Start at the corner of Evergreen Drive and Indian Mound Road in Black River. You’ll see a wooden bell tower in the park to the north and the Black River Advancement Association cabin to the south.

Walk down Evergreen Drive south until you reach number 5642 on your right. This was the home of James Tellen and is now owned by the John Michael Kohler Arts Center. It is accessible for public use. Enter through the driveway and enjoy your walk along the main path.

Continue on—you’ll notice when the groomed path ends, a hiking trail emerges to the right. Keep going along that new path until you reach a crossroads. Your path will veer to the left a little and as you follow it you'll see the river bed to your right.

Walk until you reach a mess of fallen trees, and keep your eyes open for the back of a “Town of Wilson Parks” sign on the left of the path. From that sign take about 80 paces.

You should notice a large fallen tree on the left of the path at this point. It is aiming right at the stump where the letterbox is hidden!! It’s a deep trunk, so make sure you peek inside!! Good luck!
