I've been told that the hiding place for this box is under construction (9-19-05), and that the box is probably missing. I won't be able to confirm for several months.

This is a very easy walk on a paved path at the Gene Coulon Memorial Beach Park at the south end of Lake Washington. Only foot traffic is allowed on the path, it is posted no dogs or bikes, and of course – Don’t Feed the Ducks! The path is wheelchair accessible, but you may need help to pick up the box.

From I-405 exit #5 Sunset Blvd. Turn West onto E. Park Dr. (SR 900) and drive downhill 0.3 miles. Turn Right on to Lake Washington Blvd. N. Turn Left at the next intersection into the park. Pass 2 parking lots, South Beach and the Boat Launch and park in the third lot labeled Pavilion, Boat House and Picnic Area. On your way out you can stop for lunch at Ivars or Kidd Valley near the Pavilion.

Clues: Start walking along the trail at the Interpretive Walk sign near the restrooms and Kidd Valley. Enjoy your walk as I’m sure the 3 people do on your left everyday! Looking toward the water as you pass the Pavilion you will see the “Don’t Feed the Ducks” sign that caught my attention. You know you’re on the right track when you see the “Tulip Tree Grove”. The wide crescent of beach on your left is designated “Wind Surf Area”. Choose the curved path to the left around “The Mount”. Just past the “Canoe Launch” is a beautiful map of the park. Cross the bridge at “Trestle Marsh”. “Larch Grove” is on your right. “Quaking Aspen Grove” is on your left. Keep left at the fork. Cross the “Shorewalk” bridge. “Cedar Grove” is on your right. Pass the “Fishing Pier” on your left. Stop before the next bridge with your back to “Waterfall March”. At 10 magnetic, nearly straight ahead, you can see a Cedar Tree, 15 paces away (with a small jog around the boulder). The camouflaged box is hanging from the bottom branch on the far side of the Cedar Tree. It will be easier to reach if you skirt the bottom of the tree on the brook side and approach from the far side.
