Terrain Difficulty: Easy (flat, 4 miles RT)
Recommended Ink: cyan, green & orange
Status: alive
Completely surrounded by the Capitol city, Sunset Valley is a place of natural beauty, with acres of open space and conservation land for native plants and animals. One of these places is the Sunset Valley Nature Area, where this box can be found.
Directions:
From TX 1 go east on William Cannon Dr about 0.5 mile then turn left on Brodie Ln. Go a little over 1 mile and turn right on Ernest Robles Way 0.5 mile to Jones Rd. Turn right and go 0.2 mile to Sunset Valley City Hall on right and park in back near garden and trail head for Cougar Creek Greenbelt.
Clues:
Walk on trail past garden and chimney swift towers to Y jct. Go right and continue on elevated trail as it bends to the left behind a subdivision then descends and comes to a paved path. Go left as it changes to gravel and bears right at a bridge. Continue across bridge and then a road into Sunset Valley Nature Area. Go right at Y jct soon after this and continue as trail bends left and follows Brodie Ln on right to underpass. Continue straight past underpass and go around chain gate to large trail that bends left (not rocky trail at underpass). Continue to 2 Y jcts near each other and go left at both. Continue to Y jct at Williamson Creek and continue straight (right). Continue to 4-way jct with large tree on right with benches under it. Go straight 50 steps then right off trail 10 steps to a horizontal tree with 3 vertical branches. Letterbox is on back side of trunk under rocks.
