** 2 notes as questioned by a seeker ** (a) no digging is required (b) the Clinton River does run through the back trails, but there is no danger involved in finding this letterbox, and no need to get in or cross the river.

One hot summer day, the lion decided to leave his den and go for a walk. He was thirsty, and in search of some water. He exited his den to the right to begin his journey.

Behind the den is a rock, that says Shadbush Nature Trail. Just to the right is some stairs. He was curious as to what was down there, where it would lead, and what he could find. At the end of each flight of stairs was a nice platform to rest and enjoy the nature and beauty all around. After 3 flights of stairs and platforms, a gravely dirt path followed with just a few more steps to climb.

He was a little tired from all the stairs, so he decided to rest at the bench just off to the right. After a few moments of rest, and still being thirsty, he decided to keep going. He eventually came to a tree that was right in the center of the path, and a little up the way, yet another tree in the middle! Watch where you are going! The lion saw that a path continued, and noted that there was a wooden stump, about 1 foot tall, so he would remember where he began, and not get lost on the return!

As the trail followed, the lion noticed just down to left, a boardwalk, that was 2 boards wide. At last he could take a few small sips of water from the babbling creek and also rest on the bench. But his journey did not end here. He was looking for much bigger waters, something he could take a dip in and cool down! He decided to keep walking on the board walk.... and walking... and walking... and walking... until he came across a few boards that were disconnected, but he was still able to cross, as he knew larger waters were near!

When the boardwalk ran out, the lion decided not to go over the bridge, but to veer right and go into the wild where all the trees were. As he walked, he had to duck, as there was a tree trunk sticking out, that was going through a Y shaped tree. Interesting! The lion had continued his path some more, and had to step over 3 medium size tree trucks. "Wow, what and old tree!" he thought, as he saw a tree with many roots off to the left. He then stepped over 2 smaller fallen tree trunks.

"Duck!" - nope, not the animal, lol - another tree was sticking out. He then past a vertical pipe post. Just a few more feet ahead, and finally! He was so thirsty and hot from his journey, that he jumped in for a cool dip and lapped up large amount of water to quench his thirst. "Ahh, that felt good! I could sure go for a nap about now."

There was no way he was making that trip all the way back in the heat, so he decided to take a nap under a near by tree in the shade. He turned around after visiting the river, to go back along the same path he had just came from. After stepping back over 2 logs (1 medium, 1 small), he walked off the trail, slightly to the right. He covered himself with a "blanket" under a tree that was still standing. **(no digging required, blanket is tree bark and leaves) **

This is where you will find the lion. Happy hunting, but leave me to rest. I will find my way home when I am awake and ready!
