Atop the summit of this old mountain lies a directional post (150 S-SE). If one walks straight ahead while facing the letters on the post for 14 paces there is a big boulder immediately south east which is in view from the post. There is a second large rock to the east that overlooks the mountain's edge) at the base of the smaller rock toward the rear you will find a letterbox in memory of James X. McKinnon. His ashes are scattered over the mountain which was a favorite place of his. On the day it was left, a small brown butterfly followed the hikers down the mountain...it was as if James himself was expressing his gratitude for the effort.
