This is 1 of 4 letterboxes. Each is a piece of a complete picture. Collect all 4 stamp impressions to create the image of a PEACEFUL PLACE.
St. Matthew's Lutheran Cemetery is located on Glenmont Rd. near the Town Squire Shopping Plaza (Price Chopper Supermarket, Planet Fitness and Tractor Supply Store). It is across the road from the Selkirk Fire Company. You can get to Glenmont Rd from either Rt. 9W or the River Road (Rt. 144). Enter the cemetery and bear to the right - ONE WAY. Follow the grassy and stone road toward the rear of the cemetery. You will pass a large tree that has been damaged by lightning on the right.
As the road pitches down hill, find the stone on the left that bears the name of Lauren Becall's husband and frequent movie co-star. Root around behind the tipped stone bench to find your treasure. CAUTION... pricker bushes are nearby.
Remember that there are 4 stamps to complete the puzzle.
Positioning of each stamp is critical to enjoy the image. It is helpful to lightly trace on your log book page the outside marked edge of the stamp. This will help to correctly place each of the images.
Be careful to reseal the plastic container completely, bag and hide for the next visitor.
I hope that you roam around and enjoy this very old cemetery.
