TIMPANOGOS STORYTELLING-ANOTHER STORY!

The largest storytelling festival in the west-the Timpanogos Storytelling Festival-held every year in Orem, Utah at the close of August. Some of the nation’s best known storytellers unite with other teller, both young and old, for two all-day celebrations of music, merriment, but mostly stories.

The bulk of the summer festival is held in the Mount Timpanogos Park, a 44-acre (180,000 m) park designed in part to accommodate the needs of the festival. The park is approximately one (1) mile up Provo Canyon, and sits at the foot of Mount Timpanogos.

DIRECTIONS: Take the Orem 800 North exit (#272) from I-15, Head east. It will eventually split: stay to the left and continue east up the canyon for approximately 1mile.
You must be in the left lane. Look for a brown sign on the right (Mt. Timpanogos Park with an arrow pointing left).
Turn left at the next road. Continue to the parking lot.
Now that you have arrived at the Mount Timpanogos Park walk through the Arch into the storytelling park.
Keep walking west with the large building to you right. When you come to the 2nd water fountain on the right go to the next light pole on the left. Just pass the light pole turn left and walk down the grassy hill to the “River Trail Pavilion”. To the right of the Southwest Corner of the pavilion you will find a tree that has a limb curving to the left. At the base of the tree is a hollow space. Here you will find the letterbox.

This is a high traffic area with hikers, people walking, picnickers, children playing and bikers. Please use stealth when retrieving the letterbox and hide well when finished.
