The Colleyville Nature Center is a great place for birdwatching and learning all about Texas wildlife. I have never been to this park without being amazed by some sort of creature. Please be respectful and careful of the wildlife in the park.

Park at the Colleyville Nature Center parking lot off of Mill Wood Dr. Once parked, walk to the eastern side of the parking lot. Exiting the parking lot, you will take a right on the concrete trail. Pass the Mike Rambo plaque and continue strait until you see the stone based sign with a map of the nature trail. Facing the sign take the wide gravel path forward through the stone and wood fence(with another plaque) and over the bridge. Once across the bridge, follow the gravel path to the right, going in front and then past the amphitheater seating. Continue on this path until you reach another sign titled "The Forest". Facing the sign you will see a large tree slightly behind and to the left of the sign. The box is at the base of the tree on the northern side covered with leaves.

Even though, the dusk silhouettes are often seen on the pond-side of the park, chasing mosquitos, I chose this location because I have enjoyed days of starring up at the tree canopy nearby this spot. Close by, in a very large tree, about 25 feet high, is the nest belonging to a family of red shouldered hawks. We watched months of the parent hawks catering to the two baby hawks. Just before I planted this letterbox, we saw them, flying close by, testing their wings, hesitant to leave the nest for good.
