This 'box is located along the Kal-Haven Trail State Park. It is a linear, multi-use park linking Kalamazoo and South Haven. Originally a railroad completed in 1870, it has been converted to a trail with a limestone/slag surface. Great for bikes, hikes, dogs, even wheel chairs (or so a sign indicates) The trail is maintained by VanBuren County with help from The Friends of Kal-Haven Trail. A trail pass is no longer required but there is a receptacle for donations at the trail head.

This is a NEW BOX to replace the one I originally planted in 2006.

From the trailhead in Gobles, Head East. Walk This Way until you get to a resting spot. Along the way, notice Flowering Dogwood, prevalent in this area, it typically blooms in May. A lot of wildflowers blooming as well - I wish I knew what they were. Corn fields on the North side, Hay to the South - they were baling today!
WOW! There has been a lot of storm damage to the trees along here.
The resting spot is now a little primitive camping area. Walk towards the North Eastern most campsite, looking for post #28. Go to the 4th tree NE of that. (80*? - should've brought my compass) It's at the edge of the mowed area. Step over a root, then about 6 steps to a multi-trunker to find the letterbox.

As always, re-seal, re-hide well and write back!
