Rose Cementery is located across the street from the Rich Folks' cemetery. It's history began before the earliest marked grave from 1904. Take note of the wooden name plate on the wall, Rose Cemetery Since the 1800s. As one of the oldest African American Cemeteries in Pinellas County, the sign and the cemetery aren't Real Fancy but Good Enough for the residents who rest there.
There's an old Negro Spiritual that goes kinda like this:
My days are right hard, Lord,
I'm know I'm about to give in
This work's hard and backbreakin'
Beyond a good folk's belief
If you don't take me home soon
I'll get no real relief.
So take me up yonder
Up, Up and Away
To my final restin' place, Lord
Please make it today!
Go in the North gate, turn right at the first intersection by 3 mossy oaks. At the next intersection head left to the relaxing patio for visiting folks, from there head N towards the meter that's finally out of its misery. Look for Willie Richardson in his eternal slumber lying under his tiled blanket. From there head E 12 paces to the lone Cedar tree. What you seek is reposing comfortably in that tree.
