This letterbox is part of the GO and Experiment! program. It will be available from June 1, 2014 - August 17, 2014. Further details about the program may be found at www.goyork.org.
Through the GO and Experiment! program, you will be searching for "scientific terms" – wooden posts with engraved plates on them – instead of a traditional letterbox and stamp. Please carefully rub the impression from the engraved plate into your GO and Experiment! rubbing page, available at any York County library.
The letterbox is located at Roof Park (Fairview Township). GO York level of difficulty = Easy
Park in the parking lot and walk toward the tennis court.
Locate the paved path at the bottom of the tennis courts. Turn left on it and walk toward the playground.
You should reach a Y in the trail before the playground. Stay to your right on the trail.
You may want to stop and play at the playground, which should be on the left after a short distance.
Continue on the paved path until you reach the sandy courts.
When you reach the yellow pole, look for a grove of 4 small pine trees on the right side of the trail. What you seek should be nearby.
Continue on the paved trail until you reach the parking area.
