This letterbox is part of the GO and Experiment! program. It will be available from June 1, 2014 - August 17, 2014. Further details about the program may be found at www.goyork.org.
Through the GO and Experiment! program, you will be searching for "scientific terms" – wooden posts with engraved plates on them – instead of a traditional letterbox and stamp. Please carefully rub the impression from the engraved plate into your GO and Experiment! rubbing page, available at any York County library.
The letterbox is located at York Township Park and may be acceessed from the School Street parking area. GO York level of difficulty = Moderate
From the School Street parking area, locate and cross the bridge.
Continue on the gravel trail as it curves up the hill.
About halfway up the hill, you will notice that the gravel trail changes into a paved path.
The trail will change back to gravel at the top of the hill.
Continue walking a short distance on the gravel trail, looking for two pine trees on your left. The post you seek will be nearby.
To return to the parking area, turn around and head back downhill.
