This letterbox is part of the GO and Experiment! program. It will be available from June 1, 2014 - August 17, 2014. Further details about the program may be found at www.goyork.org.

Through the GO and Experiment! program, you will be searching for "scientific terms" – wooden posts with engraved plates on them – instead of a traditional letterbox and stamp. Please carefully rub the impression from the engraved plate into your GO and Experiment! rubbing page, available at any York County library.

Your hunt for this post requires you to navigate city streets and sidewalks in downtown York. Please be careful when crossing any street, making sure to look both ways, and always use sidewalks. Correctly answer the questions below and stop at the Children's Library desk to receive the rubbing plate. GO York level of difficulty = Moderate

 Starting at the front entrance to Martin Library, turn right on East Market Street and walk toward Continental Square.
 Carefully cross at the first crosswalk and immediately turn right on this street.
 Stay on this street until you reach the next one and turn left.
 As you walk down this sidewalk, you will pass by a man who is not attracted to magnets. In what movie was this man? ___________________
 Carefully cross the next street and locate the plaque on the brick wall of this location where the above movie may have once played. In what year did America’s oldest pottery manufacturer begin? _____
 Continue until you reach the corner where a parking garage is diagonally across on your right. Turn left here and walk to the brick building on your left with the big green doors. Locate the center doors. How many windows are in one door (not both)? ______
 Stay on this sidewalk until you reach the next intersection with the metal planter. What is the first name of the business who made this planter? _______________
 Turn left at this planter and continue to the sidewalk in the middle of the street.
 Carefully cross on this sidewalk, turn left and walk to the large open area.
 Remaining in the same direction you have been walking, carefully cross the street and continue until you find the Civil War Trails sign outside a building with many steps. What was the age of Cassandra Small? ______
 Keep walking in the same direction, crossing over two streets and passing a Museum. When you arrive at the next intersection, turn left, cross the street, and turn left again. You should be heading back the way you came on the opposite side of the street.
 Locate the building which was built with something not attracted to magnets. This building looks different from the rest. What is the street address of this building? _____
 You are almost there. As you journey back toward your starting point, you will notice a cemetery. Locate the plaque along the fence to answer your last question. What type of metal that is attracted to magnets did this Colonel work with? _____________
