GO and Experiment! - Gravity LbNA #66922 (ARCHIVED)

Through the GO and Experiment! program, you will be searching for "scientific terms" – wooden posts with engraved plates on them – instead of a traditional letterbox and stamp. Please carefully rub the impression from the engraved plate into your GO and Experiment! rubbing page, available at any York County library.

The letterbox is located at Apollo County Park and may be accessed from the Shanks Ferry Road parking area. GO York level of difficulty = Hard

 From the parking lot, look for and walk past the yellow gate.
 Follow this trail (#2) up the slight hill and through the woods until you get to the edge of a field.
 At the edge of the field, turn right on trail #2A. This trail will have pine trees on both sides.
 After walking through the pines for a couple hundred yards, you should arrive at a trail intersection. Stay to the right, continuing on trail #2A.
 Remain on this trail for about 100 yards until you reach the next trail intersection. At this intersection, stay straight on trail #2A.
 You should start seeing hardwood trees on your left and pine trees on your right. If you look closely, you may even see the Susquehanna River on your left.
 Continue following the trail until it comes to a dead-end. The post you are looking for should be nearby.
 Retrace your steps carefully to reach your vehicle.
