This clue is located in Paul T. Given County Park, on the South side of Rte. 25 (Main Street) in Smithtown. The park sign is clear from the road. Enter the main parking lot from Rte. 25 and continue around to the next lot near the water. Get out of your car and walk toward the bridge. Facing the bridge, look out to your left, and in the distance, you will see the statue of "Whisper," the famous Smithtown Bull... Legend has it that in exchange for rescuing a Native American Chief's daughter, Richard Smith was told that the Chief would grant title to all of the land Smith could encircle in one day, on a bull! Smithtown was settled in 1665... After looking at Whisper the Bull, take a rest on a nearby bench, behind and to your left. Lurking behind you is a large tree that looks as if it may fall on the kiosk, and maybe even on you! This "five-fingered hand" of a tree has lots of nooks and crannies, but only one holds the box. Be discreet and be sure to whisper, as the clue name suggests! Besides being hidden under leaves and sticks, the box is also loosely tethered to a thick branch, to prevent it from "falling in." Enjoy the stamp and please log in too. Please rehide and try to keep it tethered. Cover with leaves and sticks too. Thanks and good luck!
