Since taking care of our earth should be an everyday thing we encourage you to bring a smaller garbage bag to help clean up as you take this walk. This area is used by motorist, 4-wheelers, horseback riders and more. There can also be target practicing, but we aren’t sure where, so please use good judgment if you hear shots being fired.
Driving Directions: From Redmond take 126 toward Sisters. Turn right onto NW Helmholtz Way and follow all the way to end which will be Coyner. Take a left. You will see a pull off to the right along with big power poles. Pull in and park.
Clues for Box #1: Head down gravel/dirt road. After you are about 1/3 of the way to the 2nd power pole you will be between and a ‘rock’ and a ‘farm’ place. To your left you’ll see a stump on the top of the rock wall. Head that direction. Just before the rock wall make a 90 degree turn to the right and take about 20 steps. Now make a 90 degree turn to the left. You will see two trees on the top of the rock wall. Head toward the smallest one and you will find your treasure below in the rocks.
Clues for Box #2: Go back out to dirt road and take a left. Stay on road and don’t forget to pick up garbage. Road will take a sharp left. Stop and look straight ahead. X will mark the spot. Continue on road to ‘the spot’. Walk past the spot by 7 steps. On your right will be a rock that points like an arrow. At the arrow point you will find your treasure.
Clues for Box #3: Head out on the road to the left. (watch for garbage) Pass two power poles then take first road to left. As the road turns right you will see a branchy juniper tree. Your treasure is buried on the right side. Be sure to cover well when replacing box.
Thanks for helping our earth while having fun!
