We did a volksmarch in Dallas called Irish Streets in celebration of St. Patrick's Day. The walk advertisement said it would include the Dixon Branch Greenbelt Park. Not being from Dallas I thought I'd have a hike/bike trail to hide the Shamrock's pouch along. No such thing. The greenbelt has no path through it. We walked on city streets along the edge of the creek with it's trees. Nice but not what I needed. So....

The Silly Shamrock is along the White Rock Lake Trail. Park at the Sailboat Marina (approx. 420 E. Lawther). With your back to the lake, go left to the picnic table. Look across Lawther and up the hill. Climb the hill to the bike trail. At the trail find the marker WRT 162. From it walk north on the trail approx. 30 paces. Look right and find the rabbit in the tree (at about 5 feet off the ground). Beneath the rabbit behind some tree bark resides the small pouch. Note there is a geocache nearby so I hope this letterbox doesn't get taken. This bike trail is used a lot so once you get the pouch move away to stamp your log and then return it when no one is approaching. Happy hunting.
