To get to San Dieguito County Park, exit I-5 @ Lomas Santa Fe and head east. In about 3/4 mile, turn left @ Highland. Pass the main entrance to the park, continue down Highland to the lower park. Turn right on El Camino Real. The lower entrance is immediately on the right. You can park on the street to avoid the $3.00 fee (it's about a 1/4 mile walk to the trailhead). To drive into the park, pay $3.00 @ the ticket machine (exact change required) and continue east to the farthest parking lot. The trail is a bit steep and narrow in a few areas so strollers are not recommended. You can bring bread to feed the ducks in the ponds. Park hours vary so check their website before heading out. www.sdcounty.ca.gov/parks/picnic/sandieguito.html. There's a very basic map of the park on the site as well.

By the way, I put some quotes in the boxes. They don't lead to a bonus or anything. They just made me laugh, and they "fit" with the series.

***3 January 2014 Did a box check on Stretch this morning due to report it was missing. I'm happy to report it is alive and well. I did move it, though, on the concern that it was too close to the road/upper park area and may not last long in that spot. The clue for Stretch has been modified to reflect the move. Same vicinity, different tree.***

The #1 New Year's Resolution is to get fit and lose weight. So...let's get started.

Crunch: After parking, head west to locate "Area 6". Take the service road/trail (there's a "do not enter sign" but that's just re cars) next to "Area 6" heading south. Stay right at the fork and take a right at the next fork (hiking trail sign). Look north to see the view tower. Continue down the trail then up the steps to the tower. Continue on the trail on a northwest heading (pass prickly pear cactus on left) to "Angle Bar and Hurdle exercises". A few steps from the end of the long bar, to the left of the small trail, at the base of the bush and under a rock is "Crunch".

Run: Head north across the first bridge then left down the trail (ignore all the forks), down steps to the lone pine. At the base of the tree, under pine needles and a rock is "Run".

Climb: Go back up the trail the way you came, pass two small trails on your right and take the next fork right. Climb 11 stairs. Behind the pillar on your right, under a rock and branch is "Climb".

Stretch: Continue up the stairs, cross the second bridge and head south on the main trail. Take the fork right and head west up to "Static Stretches". After stretching, walk to a "Handy" bench. Facing the bench, look to your right and walk to the small Live Oak tree. To the right of this tree is a path that will take you down the hill about 25 paces (not steps) to a skinny Eucalyptus tree. At the base of the tree under bark and rocks is "Stretch".

Just Do It: Go back to the "Handy" bench and continue on the trail several paces and fork left before you get to the road/parking area. Go left again at the next fork and head down the main trail. Take a right at the fork to head east. Pass the "Stay on Trail" sign. Go right at the fork to head south. Continue past the eucalyptus grove. Go right at the fork, up the hill (a bit steep) to the view tower. You made it! Head down the left side of the tower. To the left of the north-most pillar, at the base of the bush and under a rock is "Just Do It". (Apologies, in advance, if you have the song stuck in your head the rest of the day.)

Head around to the right side of the tower and you'll see the trail heading down to the parking lot (grey gravel going downhill, NOT in the direction of the exercise machines). Stay right at the fork. Once you reach the grass (big palm tree on your right), the parking lot is to your left.
