My in-laws have a house at the beach in San Clemente. They have many stories about their boys swimming out to the famous Seal Rock. My family has enjoyed many meals on their rooftop, overlooking the ocean and the beauty of this natural rock formation that has become a home for many sea lions. But the story goes that one sea lion made his way from Seal Rock to the beach and hid has himself somewhere near the pier.

Go to the San Clemente Pier and find the Seal Rock plaque. Using only the Seal Rock Title and portion (left side), decipher the code (line/word/letter)and find your starting point to locate the letterbox.

12/6/1 12/3/9 12/1/2 12/8/5 12/2/2 12/5/1
7/2/1 8/1/3 7/3/2 8/4/1 8/3/1 8/4/4
3/1/3 3/3/7 3/2/3 2/2/4 4/3/4 2/4/4
13/7/5 13/3/2 13/6/7 13/5/2 13/11/3 13/3/4 13/2/1 13/1/2 13/4/2

Straight ahead, slightly to the left you will see two palm trees beside a wooden fence. There is a wooden support post at the base of the second palm tree. Just behind that support beam, next to the trunk of the tree is the letterbox, covered by a red cinder block. Please cover it up completely when done and be aware that this is a very busy area!
