If you follow Twin Brooks park to the far end by the Franklin Street parking lot. There is a small pond and if you go up the hill behind the pond several hiking trails start. You will need to follow the white trail. This trail is well marked and was created and marked by a Trumbull Boy Scout as part of his Eagle Scout Award. Trail maps are available through the town, if interested.

Throughout this trail there are brown wooden markers with numbers in sequential order. When you come the marker noted #9 the marker will be on your left on the trail. If you continue past the marker (almost straight ahead), you will see a fallen tree with a large a root mass exposed. There are several vines that make almost an arbor around this exposed tree root. Turn and face the tree root and step into the hole where the tree used to sit. Down in the dirt at the now base of the root is the letter box.

This is the first letterbox the troop has hidden so we look forward to lots of visitors.
